Cig lighter Power on always
Ok the power to the cigerette power is always on weither the keys are in the ignition or not does this mean someone hooked the power to a constant or is that just how the 98 chevy lumina 3.1 was designed??

My 2000 Lumina is the same way.
I used to forget and leave my radar detector plugged in and therefore running, so I just opened up the dash and tapped into the ignition switched power going to the radio. If you have something you usually have in the car and use, I would just hardwire it in. Looks cleaner too. |

since there is use for constant power outlets (like keeping my gps charged, cell, etc), i would just add an auxilary power outlet (or dual or triple socket) that is wired into switched power supply... so you have both constant/switched
