trany problems on my 95 monte plz help need to fix

my friend was driven my car when i am guessing he hit something and he put a whole in the bottem trans pan but nothing else seems to be dameged but it will not swith in to any gears will fixing the whole and putting new flewd in it make it swith back in to gears or do i need a new tranz????? Help is greatly needed and i will take any help offerd thanks

repairing/replacing pan and filling is the 1st thing you need to do
replace filter & inspecting for other damage while its apart
not to hard of a job & you cant diagnose any thing the way it is now
