Looking for used SUV of Minivan with no road noise

Can anyone help give me some idea of some vehicles with little or no road noise for long distance driving? Road noise meaning when tires hit the surface of hard surface roads/freeways. Tanks alot!

We drive a newer Hyundai Santa Fe and it is whisper-quiet on the highway, plus it is very reasonable to pick up either new or used - you can find a 2007 model for $14-17K with low miles, just make sure you get one with the 3.3L engine or the 3.5L in the new one.

If you've got some coin, the Buick Enclave (or sister vehicles GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse) are quiet and comfortable, but the Enclave takes the cake for ultimate isolation. Older SUV's from Lexus would be quiet too, like the RX300/330.

Minivans, Honda Odyssey is the best but the Chrysler Town & Country isn't bad either, especially as a used buy.

Good luck!

Thanks alot! that is some good information; I did test drove the Odyssey and the Sienna for road noise and the Odyssey was noisier than the Sienna but both are still no good. We never did try the Santa Fe yet though...

Yes, we are on a budget, of course, but sometimes a little more "coin" can save more in the long run later on...

Don't forget certaint year Odyssey's have major transmission issues. They are great except for that. '99-'04 trans issues and now the '05-'06 are having power steering issues $500 to replace the pump, res., & flush. Also the "high tech" engine mounts are going bad and the part alone is $450 and there is 2.
