Power Mirrors??

Hi all, 2002 suburban, took it in recently to have some body work done on passenger door, including replacing the side view mirror glass. We know our power mirrors were working when we took it in, but noticed today (a few weeks after getting it back) that power mirrors (on both sides) only work right and down, no response up or to the left.

Could it have been something that they did while they had the passenger side door apart (control switch is on drivers side) or is my switch probably in need of replacement?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

when body shop work is done most places trash your interior with all kinds of silica dust. also primer/paint dust . they don't cover much of your interior if at all..this then causes the controlling switches to not work properly. you could clean this control pad for your mirror. best replace it. but it is possible to clean. this is much like a remote for your electronics where a circuit board senses the pad contact. so if dust on it this then does not work..no chemicals just a soft cotton cloth to clean the ciruit board..

Re: Power Mirrors??

What a helpful reply. I took it apart, and sure enough the switch was very dusty inside... cleaned the contacts under the rubber membrane with q-tips and it's all good now.

Thanks!
