Question AC Pump Howling

Got a 98 C1500 with 5.7 and I replaced all of the AC components with brand new 2 years ago. Recently the AC Pump started to howl which is the best way I can describe it. Headed on Vacation so can't afford trip to shop. AC works fine just howls after it's been on for a bit. It's not the grind sound I heard when it ate itself up before. Any Ideas?

Re: AC Pump Howling

Maybe try checking or readjusting the ac clutch gap. I forgot what the spec should be though. There is a special tool you need so its usually not a diy job.

Still cooling good?
Did you add the correct oil and correct amount when you replaced it?
Rebuilt or new ac compressor pump ?

What is the low and high side pressure readings at id le and at 2K rpm when it starts to make noise?

Still coolr great. All parts were new and installed by Auto AC Shop. I just got off the phone with them and said that since the noise starts after it has run for awhile that it was some "thrust" thing in the pump and would be fine until I was able to get in.
