2010 Silverado Power Locks

Hello, I am hoping that someone out there can answer a quick question for me please.

My father purchased a new '10 Silverado recently. He is not into a lot of bells and whistles, so he elected to get one with basic options. No power locks, windows, etc. But for some strange reason he got On-Star on it! Hehe...

What I am trying to find out is if anyone knows if there is a pre-installed wire harnesses, from the factory, in the doors that would have the connectors for power locks/switches? I know he upgraded his dash with a stock switch that allows him to get additional info on the display in his dash, and the harness that was needed was already there from the factory behind a blank plastic piece.

If this case is not the same for the locks/switches. What is the best route for adding just the power locks into it? I then will install a keyless entry system for him.

I am looking to do this as a Christmas present and wanted to get all the info ahead of time. Thanks for reading!

BETTER HAVE A TALK WITH YOUR GM DEALER parts and service department on that.
You could run into many needs on that project.
Power lock and key less entry stuff is controlled by several different computers.
Which may not be set up for it or have all wiring needed.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: 2010 Silverado Power Locks

Sorry but no it doesn't come prewired for power locks. The locks on each door come with an actuator that locks and unlocks each door. In order to get power door locks you have to have actuators in the doors. There is two ways to do it, the first is to go to your gm dealer and and purchase the factory actuators and switches and pretty much upgrade to power lock. The other way is to get after market actuators at your local stereo/after market alarm store. Its a bit complicated of an installation so have the shop do it. The after market rout will cost you in between 200 to 350 dollars for keyless entry after market power locks.
