99 mustang GT Ignition? PAT Key?

Just purchased 99 Mustang GT with only 44k miles from dealer. Thought this vehicle was too good to be true, so before I purchased it, had it check thru and thru from mechanical to carfax everything checked out great! Drove car home and had it about 1 week now without any problems. The next morning went to start the car and noticed that the only ignition lights to come on was brake and ABS. Gauges don't move and after about 60 sec. with the key still in the "on" position, everything turns on and the "theft" light blinks rapidly. If you try to start the car, it'll turn over but no fuel or spark. Of course dealer had 30 day or 1000 mile warranty but small print states it only covers mechanical internal, drivetrain not electrical. Well maybe some one has a better idea what this could be before I bite bullet and have it towed to FORD dealer. Pretty good with a wrench myself but heard that the PAT key may need programming. Don't know. Anyway thanks in advance for your help.
