2001 Chevy Blazer heater core. Need Help

I had someone replace my heater core in my 2000 chevy blazer and after picking it up I noticed the A/C not blowing cold air anymore, also the rear hatch will unlock the glass hatch by itself while driving and in park. The button under the glass hatch sometimes will not work or it might work. The guy could not find what he did wrong and told me it must have been like that prior to him working on it. Any help would be appreciated , thanks.

I still have the problem. I recharged the a/c and it still blows out hot air. The glass hatch pops itself open when your driving. It's very frustrating when your driving on the freeway and the glass lifts up because it unlocked itself. Does anyone know where I can find a wire diagram to show me where this wire is behind the dash?

Re: 2001 Chevy Blazer heater core. Need Help

Well the ac issue is they probably disconnected the ac to get to the core..and if you want it recharged you have to pay for it...when I had mine replaced my mechanic said his guy had a way to get around it. I would guess there is a loose wire or connector on the switch or something for the hatch...your mechanic kinda sounds sketchy

the heater core can be done without disconnecting the a/c. ive done it a few times. to check, you can get a recharge kit from autozone, with a gauge, and see if there is any freon in it. or pay $20 bucks or so for an a/c system test at your local shop

there are A LOT of connectors that have to be unplugged. i'm gonna guess a couple got crossed, or were left unplugged.

can you hear the compressor engage when the a/c is turned on?

he may have accidentally swapped a couple of harnesses in the dash...

the hatch switch issue still makes me think some things got pinched or crossed in the dash. have you checked coolant level? is operating temp right? heater working normally?

Re: 2001 Chevy Blazer heater core. Need Help

OK. Got the dash pulled enough to look for pinched wires and disconnected wires - all are good. I also traced the control wires for the from the dash to the firewall. Prior to the firewall there is large square block with a bolt in the middle that the wiring harness plugs into. Un plugged and checked the pins - ALL are good. Only thing I did find was an unplugged vacuum line. So I started checking connectiong under the hood - ALL good. Of interest there are a couple connectors on the small silver aluminum pipe coming from what I think is the evaporator. When took the plastic cap off I could hear/see bubbles. I can only assume this the freon leaking.

Re: 2001 Chevy Blazer heater core. Need Help

Can I just run a new power supply to the push button for the glass and not use the one on there currently?
