ST1 GTS - 427 Stroker - TIME TO SELL

Hi Everyone - you know the car... this is one of the two "goldburg" GTS's.
427 Stroker, detuned with a 390 carb to max out ST1 Specs with 470 HP at the REAR WHEELS, gobs of torque, aero mods, and more.

I have had this car for sale since the beginning of the year. I have turned down a few offers that I would probably take today. I have bought another race car (sports racers style), so it is time for my Panoz to go. I have had a lot of great years with the car, and now it is someone else's turn to do the same.

The car is up for auction on Ebay. The reserve is VERY LOW, so the car is going to sell!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290460040870

The car is mechanically perfect. The body work has some cracks that have been repaired with aluminum backing. You can see lots of pictures and information in the auction details. Free delivery in Florida.

I hope this car finds a home in the Panoz community. If you are looking for a GTS, or know someone who is, this is your LAST CHANCE on this car. It WILL SELL THIS TIME, believe me... the reserve is low enough.

GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE INTERESTED!!
Feel free to ask any quesitons.

Dan, good luck with the sale. This car is incredibly good value for money. Under different circumstances I would have purchased it and it would already be on the water to NZ...........!! (my loss, thats for sure)

My curiosity is getting the better of me though........what sort of car have you purchased to go racing with now?

Kel.

if you want my panoz, Kel, i'll make a payment plan. Let's see two panoz's dominate NZ!

I got myself into an Elan DP-02. Its a mazda powered sports racer. 1400lbs, 220 HP. It runs as a support race during the ALMS weekends. The series is called the Prototype Lites www.prototypelites.com
These guys have a nice writeup on the car:

and here is a video of my last race:

The Elan looks like a neat car Dan. How are the lap times compared to the Panoz?

The offer on the Panoz is tempting Dan but 2 serious toys at a time is one to many. Would need some sedative for the wife me thinks..........!!

I did 2:15s my last time out in the Panoz at Sebring. I did a 2.07 in the Elan in June, but the front runners in the series race in March did 2.00 flat. FAST.

Dan, congrats on the sale. I guess this will help fund lots more seat time in the Elan!!

Dan, curious as to where the car ended up? Is it staying in the States?

The Elan looks quite a bit like a Juno. Is there any design linkage between this Elan model and the Juno 4 and 6 cylinder cars Dan? Curious as there are a few Juno's in NZ now. At least 1 has had a 2.7 liter 400hp+ V8 fitted (a very light custom built unit). This car now holds the unofficial lap record at my local track.

Kel,
Thanks! I am happy to have it sold. The ebay sale was $26.6, plus wheels brings the total to $28.8. And once I sell my video system I will have brought in around $29.3 for my total package. I think it is a good deal for the buyer, and a relatively fair price for me given the marketplace.

The buyer is coming from California to pick it up this week. He is a Nasa HPDE driver and working his way up to racing. My GTS aught to motivate him!! haha!!

The Elan is similar to the Juno, but also quite a bit different. My race shop has a Juno, and I have raced against him. The juno is a tube frame style chassis, whereas the Elan is a carbon fiber tub. the elan has a 220 hp mazda inline 4, whereas I know there are different juno options.
the elan is a spec car (some people have modified them, but most are kept stock). the elan has a full aero tub, and i dont think the juno has quite as much aero downforce. juno has a double seat aera, elan has single seat.

I raced this juno in July at sebring.. the car seemed fast but the driver was still getting used to the car and could not keep up with me and the other elan in the race.

The Elan sounds very cool Dan. Next time you have it lifted up, it would be great if you could take some photo's of the underside and post them. I am doing a bit of reading up on underbody aero's at the moment in preparation for making an undertray and diffuser for my car (anything to keep up with those pesky GT3's).

Does the Elan have diffusers behind the front splitter as well as at the rear after the flat part of the underside of the body?

Kel.

PS - Pleased I dont have to worry about having to grid up next to your old car over here in NZ.........!!

Well, if we can tolerate a Vette on the site Brian, I am all for seeing some shots of the Elan. At least it has some semblance of Panoz heritage.........I assume that the Elan bit is Panoz related.
