Need exaust for Husbands present

Hi, I have a 97' Cheverolet, CK2500, with a 7.4 liter V? Its a towing power house. Hubby has great dreams of dual exsaust on this truck. He wants it to "sound like a big truck". All I know is that it has dual cats, they are located on either side. He said something about wanting the exaust pipe being 2 1/2" - 3". I was going to go to a parts place, but I figured they would look at me like I was nuts. I was told to get a kit, I have no clue to what I need.

Our anniversary is in 2 weeks, can you help me? Tell this silly house wife with no vehicle parts knowledge what to look for or get? Maybe a list to hand to the parts place?

Can someone help me?

One highly recommended suggestion is to use flowmaster mufflers. If he wants the "big truck" sound use either 40 series or super 40's. they have a nice deep but loud tone to them. They may be a little loud inside thought thats the only draw back. As far as size, not sure what to tell ya, im sure there's someone else on here that can help more on size. But definately don't go cheap on the mufflers, in my opinion cheap muffler cheap sound

Re: Need exaust for Husbands present

I liked the Magnaflow, it has a nice look to it "for an exauhst kit". I did try to find the Flowmaster, but I couldn't get it to pull up a dual exauhst kit, just the single. I will keep checking though.

Unfortunitely, they are a bit more $$$ than I had expected. In the hotdrod magazine, my brother-in-law showed me a dual exauhst kid for $300.00, must not have been a good brand. But that was the price range I was expecting.

The Magnaflow was mid $500's, thats a whole paycheck for me, I guess I should have been planning this for more than a week.

I will keep looking though, I think I will tell him what I'm getting him and just get it a month later. Maybe print off the picture for him?

I would be pissed if he cut out a picture of jewlery and told me I could have it in a month. Bummer

Thanks, guys, any more info is appreciated!
