interior light on all the time

I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy & the interior lights are on all the time. It doesn't seem to be the "switches" (pins?) in the doors that tell them to go out when they are closed. I have to pull the fuse when I park the truck.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem in my 96 Jimmy. The solution I used was putting cardboard taped to my door where it would push the button. Seemed like the button was getting wore out or something so it wouldnt push in far enough. Once I did that with the cardboard it worked just fine. Not too pretty but effective.

All the wear & tear is on the drivers door, the door striker is probable worn out.
