How to replace the upper strut mount on my 1997 convertible?

I did a search in this forum on this matter, but I did not find any for this. So I ask, How do I replace the upper strut mount on my 1997 sebring convertible? I see that there is a mount inside a bracket that bolts to the upper control arm. Is that mount pressed into that mounting bracket? I see so many different bushing set ups online when I search specifically for my car. My car bangs like the dickens over the rough roads. I had the front struts replaced by my backyard mechanic and he said he didn't see how they were to come out. I say they're pressed in so I bought a mount online that says its for the convertible and they look like that's the way I should do it.
