Electrical issue when hot - no power/start

Hi!

I have a friend in CT where it's been hot. When she first drives the Burb in the am, it starts and runs without issue. But if she shuts it off at her destination, then tries to restart, she has no power and the engine won't crank. Nothing. After it cools off a bit, she can restart it as if nothing happened. Factory alarm issue that I've read about online? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Electrical issue when hot - no power/start

Start with bad battery connections.

Re: Electrical issue when hot - no power/start

Thanks for replying. I have mentioned grounds and battery and starter connections to her. Trying to figure out what could cut power to the entire vehicle and a bad battery connection would do it...

this time of year many a battery dies a sudden death...the heat stresses out the internal plates of the battery..have her bring to a battery retailer that can load test the battery ...this will reveal whats up..

battery 5-7yrs old 80% chance bad battery cell..just did one last week ..

as mentioned a bad connection will cause poor charging as well as slow intermittent cranking power...

I would look at the ignition module. If the battery connection was loose the problem would be more consistant

Another vote for battery. I've also seen failing starters do that.

Re: Electrical issue when hot - no power/start

Sorry for the late post. It was a simple fix - a loose battery cable! Thanks for your help!
