Engine knock
Hi guys im new to the forum, my names jimmy. Anyway i was getting off the highway and it felt as if my engine was going to seize up and then it went back to normal but after that i had a bad knocking noise so i pulled over and got towed home. I then checked timing and it is good. So i drained my oil and i didn't find any metal at all so then i took my oil pan off. I am trying to get the rod caps off to take a look at the bearings to see how they are. I then noticed 1 out of the for rods wiggle a tiny bit could this be the knocking?
I also still cannot get the rod caps off i have removed the 2 bolts is there anything else i am missing? thanks! |

Re: Engine knock
If that rod cap moves then its a spun bearings. You may have to tap the caps off sometimes they are suctioned down by the oil. Time for a rebuild
