A/C not working

2008 Chevy Equinox

I love this truck, But the A/C stop working a year ago and all its doing is when I try to turn on the A/C the light blinks and won't do anything after that. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Re: A/C not working

Sounds like its low on charge. Most places will offer an a/c performance test for a fairly resonable price $29-$39 plus froen is pretty common. They will add die to the system to find the leaks and then give you an estimate for repairs. You can decide if you want to tackle yourself or not. Don't be surprised to get a $1,000 + estimate!

While this is a possibility, it's not likely on a vehicle that is only 2-3 years old (depending on mfr date).

A more likely possibility is a bad ambient air temp sensor. If the temp displayed in the DIC (Driver Information Center) is obviously incorrect, then this sensor is likely to blame. The A/C will not turn on if the temp displayed is below 40*F. The ambient air temp sensor is located in front of the radiator and is fairly easy to replace. It fails quite often on GM vehicles, but a replacement part is usually under $20 even from a stealership.
