3000gt vr-4 main cap.

I need to replace the main bearing cap. Its a 1996 3000gt vr4 2bolt cap. would it be the same on a regular 3000gt sl?

You can't just throw any main bearing cap in there. If you spun a bearing, you need an entire rebuild

I just bought a 2bolt main cap thats from a 92 3000gt. once i get it i m going to get it machined. And hopfuly the machine shop guy know what hes doing cause its his idea.
What you guys think?

And I completely agree as obvious by my first response. I dont think, I KNOW its a bad idea and a waste of money. It WILL spin again. Either get a replacement short block, or rebuild the whole bottom end. Just replacing the main cap is not going to fix it.
