Honda Today

Car: Honda Today
Kit: Tamiya
Color: Mitsubishi P85 red
Modifications: Omit electric motor and replace with back seat, remade interior side panels. The Interior tub is omitted and panels and seats are installed straight on chasis. Gear stick and rear seat handle bars are scratchbuilt. Key holes are replaced with paper clip ends.

This car is really really small.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Honda Today

Wolf: the keyholes were made rods cut from paper clip ends. I drilled out the original holes on the body for the rods to go in.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Re: Honda Today

Very original and rare model.
This little Honda makes me think to the french Renault Twingo, they seem similar by their shape and size...
Don't know if they really have a common story or not, but such small cars except some japenese ones are completely forgotten by kit brands.
With a lot of work though, this Honda may become a Twingo...

[OOT]

rallymaster, actually Twingo was based on Polish car prototype "Beskid"

Here you go:

and a shot of the instructions minus one step that involves putting on the complete body onto chassis. It's a really simple kit.

The process of building the interior pieces were really fun. When I was deciding on the placement of the rear seats I was surprised at how much leg space the rear seats seem to have, I thought it must have felt like a limousine in real life. And then I realized in order to free up that much leg space, they must have shrunk all those seats badly, it probably sits like a foldable stool. And then it still managed to have some trunk space.....

Re: Honda Today

I wanted to post something on this model for many days and never got around to.

This is IMO a very nicely built version of an any day car in japan. Nothing special in real life, but a very interesting subject in scale - because nobody ever build these K-cars. They are a rare sight here in AF. Great job, especially because you left it OOB and only added necessary things to it like the rear seats. Flat black bumpers are great, also the standard steel wheels. Wonderfully simple.

Cheers
Sebastian
