What exactly ist he negative effects of HICAS on the car? Is it possible to remove HICAS without causing any problems to the car? |

HICAS can be quirky becuase it ever-so-slightly adjusts the geometry of the rear suspension while driving to acheive a bit more turn in, its very similar to the Prelude 4-wheel steering (so I heard).
I dont like using the term DRIFTING becuase most on this forum DONT drift, but I will say that at-the-limit driving the car can become more quirky. Many people chose to DISABLE the HICAS and lock the rear suspension so that it doesnt move. Of course, the HICAS does weigh more. But one benefit is that the steering rack is different.. and uses a tighter rack (or steering column, I cant remember). Man, I wish more people asked GOOD questions like this on the forum.. your post shows true interest in the car. |

Yeah i also had this question...well sort of i know the super hicas on the skyline is a fine system, but it's kinda scary on the 240 cause of the tendency to be out of phase withthe front....
My question is if anyone has disabled the system and locked the rear? I belive they have kits to do so but if someone knows a better way other then shelling out mad $$ that would be great. Or if the kit is the best way that's the route im gonna take always costs less to do it right the first time then just botch something shady together. Thanks for your time. -Riggs |
