need to remove piece off my door

just wondering if anyone knows how to remove that black trim piece on the outside of the doors of 90-91 hatchbacks ((i dont think 88-89 civics have em cuz they dont have seatbelts in the door))and the trim piece right next to it. I need to repaint them cuz they're fading. its kind of a hard piece to describe, hope you guys know what im talkin about.

I think that piece just pops off and pops back on. Sometimes they have problems popping back on, and that's when I use superglue.
Pop it off!

PS-I hate doing stuff like that. Something plastic always breaks when you take if off of a place where it is happy.
