Bad Handling

I Have A 1991 Ciera. The Other Day I Took It On A Little "Speed Test", We Reached 80mph And When I Would Turn My Steering Wheel Just A Little Bit My Car Would Shake Around And Try To Go Out Of Control. But Just Last Night I Took It For Another Spin And I Was On Back Roads And It Seemed To Be Worse. Everytime I Would Come To A Turn On The Road And I Would Have Some Speed Behind Me, The Car Would Be All Over The Road. And This Really Scared Me, Since I Came Pretty Close To Demolishing The Car With A Telephone Pole Lol... I Know Its Not My Driving, Yea I Love Goin Fast But I've Never Had Any Of These Kind Of Problems With Any Other Car Ive Ever Drivin. A Buddy Of Mine Told Me It Could Be The Tires.. He Didnt Say Much But Im Guessing He Ment The Car Will Tend To Act Like That When The Tread Is Low On The Tires, Since They Are In Need Of Replacement. But When Im Turning The Steering Wheel It Feels Like Im Turning The Wheel Further Than I Should Be. Like In Any Other Car I Drove You Can Turn The Wheel A Little Bit And It Would Take A Nice Turn But In My Ciera I Have To Turn The Wheel Alot More. Im Sure This Could Be How The Car Was Made But Im New To This Car So Im Not Sure If This Is Normal.

Re: Bad Handling

Hmm, how about checking the steering and suspension for looseness and/or wear, "hotrodder". Ever think of the basics on a 20 year old car before speeding!!??
