Rocker Panel Rust
I've had a number of Geo's/Metro's and Chevy Metro's. It goes without saying these are great cars that should be respected for their gas mileage and ease or repair. One naging problem besides the A-Arm rusting is the Rocker panel rust. All but one of the several I've had had this problem. The other day I was looking a my '99 Green Machine and noticed that the moulding on the roof has a wide space between the moulding, the side frame and the top of the car. Could it be that water is leaking down thru the bodies center pole and causing the rocker panel to eventually rust because of this seperation?
I've thought of filling the rocker panel cavity with insulation foam. Has anyone done this? Regards, Gasenvy, Chicago |

Re: Rocker Panel Rust
That is a good point. Since this is just a big problem, I would think someone out there makes replacement rocker panel sheet metal. At least for the later models. Does anyone know of a company that makes or stocks replaceable rocker panel metal?
Thanks, John |
