Question London Car Model Shops

Looking for any recommendations for Hobby Shops and Book shops in the London area which have lots of race/rally stuff. Don't know if I can make Grand Prix Models but will try. Would like to know about others.

Thanks

Motor Books has a shop in London, they have quite a range of motoring books. See http://www.motorbooks.co.uk/ for details.

Hannants in Colindale (right next to the tube exit) is actually pretty useless for car stuff. In fact, last time I was there, they said 'we don't carry much car stuff as it's not too popular' - they cater mainly for the military modeller.

ModelZone have a few shops here and there. The best one I go to is next to the Holborn tube station, about 2 doors down. See the Sainsbury on the corner, and it's 3 doors WEST of there.

Also try Hamleys - they aren't bad for stuff, but a little pricey. You have to deal with floods of kids though, but can be fun looking around the other stuff.

I also go to Mick Charles Models in Epsom/ Ewell. They are pretty good, but you pretty much have to drive there.

Have fun....

Re: London Car Model Shops

If you're in London be sure to drop into St Martins accessories on St. Martins Lane. They used to be all kits but have moved onto a lot of die cast models now, they still have a lot of kits in though and sometimes have some really different stuff there.. Here's their site...

That would be Hamleys on Regent Street, and yes, they do have models up on the top floor, I forgot about that!
