1/20 F1 Jaguar R3 2002

Hi All,
I'm a newbie here, so introducing myself, I am a member elsewhere so some might know of me but to those who don't ( Hello! , nice to meet you! ) I'm not quite a newbie to modeling but I thought I'd post a recent build/conversion of mine, it's a Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari F2001 conversion to Jaguar R3 2002..

I had a lot of fun doing this conversion, This type of modeling is a challenge to your skills and gives you something different at the end of the process and you are either going to be happy or unhappy with, I'm pleased how this turned out in the end and as I said it was a lot of fun, I really enjoy this type of re-modeling now...

Basic description of what is involved in this conversion from my perspective anyway:

Body needed quite a bit of re-shaping, Nose needed to be leveled out and thinned and squared off at the tip, also new front wing mounts were made along with extended barge boards, side pods were modified at the front (inlet made smaller) and also inside the front area (filled and shaped), engine cover was re-shaped and filled out over engine area and the heat shields were shaped as R3, the small winglets mounted on top of the side pods were scratch built as were the flip-ups in front of rear wheels. Driver head rest given R3 treatment also. The undertray was modified to match new sidepods & difuser shortened and re-shaped along with front and rear wing endplates, . Other scratch built bits n pieces include screen, mirror stems, small aero pieces at the "Jaguar head", slightly modified bits were steering wheel, rear light and front suspension push rod positions. Wheels & tires are from Tamiya's FW24 kit.

It Might not be a "perfect" R3 in areas but I'm done with it now and like it

FINAL RESULTS:

Hope to post more projects in the future!!

Take care!

Dede.

The decals are ( or were ) a limited release from Studio27, There were a couple of beck's logo's missing from the sheet for the front of the side pods ... I'm sure you might come across a set on Ebay if you search but they were not available in the usual shops for some reason, only for trade show attendies i think, got mine from ebay.

Cheers,.
