2000 MGM starting issue?
Hello
I have a 2000 MGM In the last few weeks it developed an intermitten starting issue Once in a while it starts up and quits. When that happens I need to try to start the car 2-3 times. Yesterday I took the car to Autozone to check on the computer codes. They did not find any issues. While I was there I changed the air filter just in case. Is this the sign of a developing problem? What can cause this? Any advise appreciated. |

Re: 2000 MGM starting issue?
I'd look into the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. It may also be the crank position sensor or fuel delivery problem (failing fuel pump or dirty fuel filter).

Re: 2000 MGM starting issue?
Thanks
Took your advise and replaced the IAC today, with one from AZ. Hope this will solve it. The original vas very dirty. The only drawback is I lost the 8mm socket somewhere under the IAC. It must have rolled on an edge. Is there any openings it can roll in and do demage? |
