GTP engine change

Ok well after 200+k miles the engine gave out on my 97 GTP. My question is, should I stick with a 97 engine or is say the series 3 a better choice along with the matching PCM?
Thanks John

Re: GTP engine change

Welcome to AF!!

You can use any GTP engine from 1997 to 2003 (Series 2) but stay with the 1997 PCM. The 1997 was unique and even changing the PCM to one from another year can cause issues.
