94 chevy silverado Steering issues.

Ok the shifter is on the steering column goes, P R N (OD) D 2 1, no whever i turn left it wants to shift left, IE im in Drive goes into OVERDRIVE, if in Overdrive goes into Neutral, also does it turning right, IE Drive, goes into 2, OD, goes into D. Please help me with this problem to get it fixed! I will provide a video later.

did this suddenly occur ?

to me it has i just bought it off my girlfriends mom, and the steering wheel itself is loose, but she didnt mention this problem.

this should be checked out soon...call around for a repair shop to correct any steering wheel issues like this ...this is a saftey issue..


most likely the steering wheel was not properly replaced when lock cylinder or other work was done .

had my grand dad look at it, hes a mechanic, said the whole steering column needs to be rebuilt, seems someone had tried to take it apart and didnt put it back to gether, g/f mom didnt know anything about it. So guess ima have to call around today
