84 k1500 rear end seal

I need a new rear end pinion gear seal for my:
1984 Chev. 4X4 K1500 350cid etc.
Autozone says they have to know if the rear is 8.5" ring gear so they can give me the right seal. They don't list a dust cover either.
Checked the Vin website but they don't list it.
Vin: 1GCEK14H8EJ119907
REAR END ID 19055251
DUST COVER 0515289

I'm not sure what gives with this but maybe someone can enlighten me?
Might be important or not, I had the rear and front gears changed way back to a lower ratio but I wouldn't think that the seal would be different as the rear housing wasn't changed or would it?

Re: 84 k1500 rear end seal

Try this site for rear end ID.
http://www.differentials.com/install.html

Also count your gasket bolts.
And match up cover for gasket.
Or just us some good silicone.

Parts book shows 8.5 ring gear But.
I show two different seals for a 8.5 ring gear National 8622 or 8643.

If parts place can not give you all the seals it calls for on it just take your old on out and match it or the no on it up with what you need.
Also.
Better look for the reason it is leaking while you are at it.
Is vent stopped up ?
Is pinon bearing lose?
Is the yoke worn where seal runs?
Did the seal pick up and grass or weeds?
