s10 2000 2.2 harmonic balancer?

Does anyone know whether the 2000 2.2 uses a harmonic balancer? I have gotten conflicting info. Some write that the 2.2 doesn't use one; but some parts stores offer one. I have a vibration that may signal a harmonic balancer, but won't pursue this avenue obviously if the engine doesn't have one.

You should ber able to tell by looking at it.
Or have your GM parts dealer run you VIN no for the part.

Auto matic or standard transission?
Describe your vibration.
At what RPM does it shake?
In gear or out of gear or sitting still or on the road?
