2000 Impala 3.4 - Replacing Camshaft position sensor - Help?

Had a great day replacing the front wheel hub assembly, piece of cake. But the Camshaft Position Sensor is another story. Positioned down behind the power steering pump, it is darn near impossible to get to without removing the PS pump. I have all the bolts out and the pump moves, but not enough. Any other thoughts about how to replace the sensor without actually removing the PS pump. I really don't want to mess with the fluids and the resulting mess.

After some time consuming tries, I simply put the bolt top in a flexible tube and coaxed it in. But whatever works!! Universal socket ends and flexible extensions just didn't do the trick....
