1999 Express 1500 Air conditioning problem
The air conditinioning blows warm air and then hot air as the temperature gets to 80-90.
I am not sure if I want get the air conditioner fixed. I think I can live without it. My problem is I believe the compressor is starting to sieve up. I started to smell something burning. So I turned off the air. The engine stopped a couple times because, of the compressor. I would still like to run the blower fan without running the air conditioner. I can't run the defrost part of the controls because of the problem, I am thinking about taking the fuse to the air conditioner out ? Is this a good idea or not, I use this van when I need a spare car. thanks |

FIRST CHECK AND SEE IF COMPRESSOR OR COPPRESSOR CLUTCH/BEARING FREZING UP. If just compressor locking up unplug the clutch plugin. If clutch or front compressor bearing locking up you will have to fix that to drive it. Let it cool of so it does not burn you. Pull the belt and see if front pulley on ac compressor spins free and no noise or rattle If so then unplug clutch and see what it does. Post back how it goes,
