Tamiya Lotus 99T-98T Conversion

Finished after about 2 months work (Although I think a month of that was spent waiting for the decals). MSM creation decals and tamiya paints. Detailed the engine, although I know its wrong. 98T had a Renault turbo, the 99T has a NA honda, which is the engine shown. I do not have the skill the scratch build or alter the existing engine (hey, the wiring was hard enough!) so, I just left it as is. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I really loved the black. I think thats what attracted me to doing the conversion. Enjoy.

Re: Tamiya Lotus 99T-98T Conversion

Have just seen this build. If I may offer a couple of things: the 99T had a TURBO Honda engine, not an atmo one, & the rims on the 97T & 98T were actually a 2 piece rim with a highly polished chrome outer. Someone in the States was supposed to be releasing a set of them to match their decals, but they never came to fruition.
It's a shame Tamiya didn't release this kit as the Renault powered version, because the kit actually represents that car better than the Honda powered car. Even at the season opener in Brazil, the kit is still not 100% accurate as a 99T. Other than that, nice build. I hope the gloss black for mine comes off as good
