Just my luck

It's really just my luck....

My 97 Lesabre experienced the UIM failure. I fixed this, along with a couple other items that seemed to fail at the same time and almost immediately started getting the check engine light coming on.

Checking the light showed a transmission issue. The torque converter was fried and upon checking the fluid, it was full of shavings. I replaced this to the tune of $2000. I was wary of doing this as the car had 143k on it and knew that the value of the car was only in it's usability, definitely not in its resale value.

1400 miles, with city MPG improved to 28 although highway MPG was actually less at 27MPG. (gets me??) Loaned the car to my sister for a road trip and she was t-boned at 35+MPH. Front passenger door smashed into the dash and seat. My niece was in that spot and made it out with no injuries. (Kudo's to GM)

Now the good news...my 97 with 144k miles was given a value of $5700!! I couldn't find another Lesabre that was nearly as nice as mine though. Everything in the price range I looked at was either 200k Miles or severly abused. Been great getting to read over the Lesabre posts and everyone that helped me receives my deepest gratitude but now I move over to the Grand Prix posts. Thanks everyone!
