high rpms, very little thrust

92 F150 4X4 4.9L 5sp manual

Just bought this truck and drove it for a couple of days with no issues. Now when we take off in first, the engine revs fine like it's supposed to, but the truck only goes 'a little'. Can barely get up any speed although the engine sounds normal. Can cycle through gears, but lose more and more power until have almost none. Same issue in reverse but not as bad.

Any thoughts?

Re: high rpms, very little thrust

someone (offline) offered the advice that it might possibly be a fuel sending problem. The engine seems to be revving fine, but any insight on that?
