Exclamation Lost keys

Ford Dealer says they will not make a new set of keys to the car. It has the security chip to it.

What can I do to start this car? Without the chip the car will not start!
Any solutions? Maybe a locksmith?
A 1997 Merc Sable

Thanks
John

I would check with a few locksmiths.

Re: Lost keys

Someone stole my dads a couple of years ago. So there must be some way to start it without the key/chip. Keep searching. I know there is suppose to be some code on a sticker outside of the cpu to indicate the chip code.

Re: Lost keys

I had to call a locksmith and get new keys made. It costs more than I wanted it to, but it beat the alternative.

Re: Lost keys

Some local hardware stores, can make Sprare Key/chip Pats for $60.
I heard of people glueing a chip near the ignition, and using just a cut key for starting.
