Unhappy what to do?

well their comes a time in every persons life where they have to make a decision..
he is my situation....

my cousin is getting rid of his 91 probe.. its a automatic 4clyd but it is turbo but its a ford.. the car runs ok.. it will get you from point a-point b but its a ford.. i am a pure import head.. i have always diss and cracked on ford but now i am face with the decision wether to own one or not.. is this probe better then no car?? will let me give you some info on the car..
its a 91 probe..
130xxx miles
the turbo is kinda shot and the exaust mainfold has a crack in it so boost is let out.. it makes about 4psi but if it is fixed can make 14psi.
it needs a general tune up, new plugs wires, oil, ect.. you know the usually things...

the thing about this car tho is that it is a automatic and i want a stick...

if i dont take this car i can wait probably untill winter and get a turbo 5speed eclipse gsx or a 90+supra or a mr2 turbo or sumthin basically something 5speed,turbo, and japaneese...

so i dont know what to do rite now.... your comments are appreicated

I agree, dont settle for a POS broken probe if in a few months you can get a mr2 or supra later

It depends, how much does he want for it? If he'll let you have it just for getting it off his lawn (or a money figure somewhere worth the same amount) take it.

id say wait...especailly if a supra or mr2 are in your future.

and plus..with a tune up..there will always be something more to fix then just oil and exhaust manifold....

the only way im gettin a supra or mr2 is if i see one int the newspapers that is for sale and i can affor it, and if i do happen to come across a supra which i doubt itz probably gona have 120+m and be a 1990-1993 if im lucky.. as for the mr2 .. i'll be one lucky man to find a turbo mr2 i will most likley get a gsx eclipse 95+ mainly because itz 5speed turbo and awd(great launches)... or maybe a 91+240sx h\b with a sr20det swap if my funda allow it....

yea but im not gona get a brand new car any car i get will have itz problems cause of old age and abuse on the motor by prevous owners.. lets face it all the good turbo cars were made from 1990-1996.. with that kinda year any cars from that time will have many many miles on them and will have problems also... but i want my GSX with about 4g into the car i can pull 13's runs all day long.. thats good enuff for me for a while..

Hey, if its free, then, take it and drive the shit out of it till the winter. Just keep it working, hey, its better then nothing. Unless you need to save money on insurance, then, live without a car.

Well if it's free take it, drive it for a while and then drive it to the junkyard, chances are you could earn back what you spent on maintenance if you didn't keep it for too long.

i have an idea. why not buy it, fix what's wrong with it, and sell it for some profit? once you fix the turbo woes, it will probably be worth at least a little bit of money, and that's money that you can put towards your next car. i was in the same situation a while back. i was offered my car (1991 Pontiac) free of charge. it's a piece of shit with high km and alot of problems, but at that point in time, i had no money, and if i didn't take this car, i wouldn't have one at all. so i took it. i don't care that it's automatic and a Pontiac. it's getting me around for now until i can afford a better car. i say take it, fix it, drive it, and then sell it when you feel like it.
