i have a 98 prelude SH, i am a newb in the car modifying world so i have lots of questions....i just barely posted another question b4 this one. anyways, how does turbo work? what is boost and what does it do? what is psi??????? i want a turbo for my SH but no one seems to make one for it....(greddy. hks...no one) then someone said that it is because of the ECU....can i just replace the one i have with a basic prelude's ECU?????

1. Follow that link. How Stuff Works is a great site to learn about things. It should give you a good idea of how a turbo charger operates and what is does.

2. Boost is a term we use for pushing more air into the cylinders, which is rated in bar or more commonly, pounds per square inch (PSI). Boost just refers to the amount of air that the turbo is forcing into the cylinders.

3. Nobody makes a kit, but you can do your own custom kit. You can turbocharge any engine. It is a mater of fitting everything under the hood.

4. No, you can't just take an ECU from another car. You should get a standalone computer which replaces your ECU. This will give you better control over the fuel flow, because the turbo is pumping in more air you have to compensate and add more fuel or you will run lean, and that is when you melt down engine internals.
