Is Spraypainting your valve cover totally ghetto?

i spraypainted my valve cover blue with high temperature spraypaint and it looks really good, cant even tell that its spraypaint unless you look closely, only a little bit shinier than powdercoated ones... didnt want to spend $230 on a new one or whatever it costs to get your stock one powdercoated...

really up to u. do u think it looks ghetto? cuz thas really the only opinion that matters. i personally would never do it, but if that paint holds up (which i doubt, but lets hope it does), then sweet. i mean, im all for saving money cuz cars are expensive as is, but i really think u get wut u pay for.

well i paid $4 for the can of paint and i dont think a new one thats powdercoated is worth 57.5x that much ($230 for a retail one) so i think this will do... why wont it hold up? its high temperature paint. what if i did multiple coats or put a coat of something else on top?

Hello, i bought a powdercoated valve cover for my 91 civic and it was really cheap. I know a guy that does it as a business and he gives great deals.

If you'd like, you can drop him a line @ [email protected], Ask for TOM and tell him "BHG" sent you

that looks cool.

from a distance (10ft) it looks really good, and you have to be realllly close (1 ft) to tell that its spraypainted on mine.

looks better than before anyway cuz the stock black paint was starting to chip off in a few places
