Where do you live? Most BMW dealers have the European Delivery program, which I assume you can get with Mini as well.

I have a friend of mine who flies to europe a lot and put a order in for a convertible mini S and it will be here in September, 2 months before dealers here in Chas, SC will have them. She also paid $30k for it. She didn't buy it from the factory, just a regular dealer. If you want to drive in Europe for a while, You will have to suffer the transport costs. Just make sure that you pick up a US Spec when you buy it. You will probably have to order it.
