Integra Ls/vtec Or 93 Rx-7

Right now i have a 2000 integra with a ls/vtec with 100 miles that gets about 230 at the wheels.......someone who lives around here is selling a 93 rx-7 with 44000 miles and all the maintenance records..... I was wondering what to do? Which would be better the ls/vtec is awesome it can rev to 9500 and still get power but ive always wanted an rx-7 but i dont know much about them just wondering if anyone could give me some insight on my decision.......... OR is there a way to swap a 13b into an integra if so how much thanks...

If you arent afraid of a little work, being a dick when it comes to maintentnce schedules, and the occasionaly blown engine (aobut evvery 80k) then get the Rex. 255hp stock, and it goes up from there. Dont bother with a 13b in an integra. First the engine doesnt belong in that car, second the 13b is a RWD engine, and ill rape myself with a sandpaper covered rod if you find a FWD tranny that mates with the 13b AND find mounts to mount the 13b transversley along with everyhtin assosiated with it...

Learn aobut rx-7's before you buy one tho. Awesome car's if you know what's coming to you. Shitty car's if you expect them to put out power and last while you ignore them.

an integra is a punk ride, no offense, a 3rd gen is just straight PIMP!!!

the 3rd gen motors only go out at 60-80,000miles with the original motor, once it,s rebuilt it's usually smooth driving from there.

oh yeah then ur turbos go out.

well if i had a car i would day lets go but seriously if you are going to get arx-7 do the research b4 buying the car itz not the simplist car to maintain especially if you mod it.. rex's got serious cooling probs.. and the seal go fast if you race alot..

btw.. dont mess wid gsx they are the illest sleeper when i get the gsx and i spend 4g into that car ill be doing mid 12's if not low 12's and i will be makin 320hp@wheels..

but i hope you do what you think is right

Hmmm... well, I sell an adaptor to use a volkswagen transaxle with a 13b so start raping. Also, its easy to mount a rwd engine in a fwd car or vice versa. I've done it myself with an rx7

Awhile back i found an adaptor to mate a rotary to a Chevy powerglide..
follow my logic....

--The adaptor will allow a rotary to mate with a powerglide
--All engines that will bolt to a power glide will also bolt to a turbo hydramatic
--All engines that will bolt to a turbo hydramatic will also bolt to transverse tranmissions in cars such as: Caviliers, sunfire, celebrity, fiero's, citations...

THEREFORE:
There is a way to mate the rotary into a front engine car...

The problem, is::::
IF mounted into a Chevy chassis, the spark plugs will be in front, and the intake will be in the back... no problem, get a lower profile DCOE weber setup right... Okay great..

you would have to custom fab your exhuast, no big deal, buy the flange from mazdatrix, and go almost straight back (atleast 20" before siamese) actually would be a straighter run than in the rx-7's...

if you used a 2nd gen engine you can reverse the water neck to it faces towards the radiator...
and you would have to plum something for the waterpump at the bottom, to get to the bottom of the radiator... the heater hose would have to snake around from the heatercore to the now front of the engine... the coolant loop can be retained just from the rear side housing to the back of the water pump.

And you would need to mount the front mount oil cooler, and have custom lines made.

Okay, i guess it wouldn't be much of a problem...

If you went turbo 13B, it would be a little tight for the turbo against the firewall, but it would prolly fit.. the downpipe would be weird... but i guess not really different than a downpipe on a turbo DSM.

At this point before i measure, i would say the 13BT-rew with complete twin turbo would not fit...

maybe i should go pick up an old 5mt Citation from a junk yard... I am sure i could find a clutch disk that would work with the splining on the input shaft and with whatever flywheel/pressure plate i would use...
