Question Power windows

Anybody switched from manual to power windows? I have a 91 Si hatch. Would I have to trade out the entire door or just the mechanism and cover?

Thanks

Depends on what you're going for....

If you want to do it the RIGHT way, you need the entire wire harness, and proper door panels. Also, make sure the window glass and modulators are the right ones. I know alot of people on ebay are trying to pass off "power windows" from other cars like accords.

Mind you, the jdm panels have the master switch on the right side, so if you want to have the master switch on the left, you need Edm Panels (UK spec). Or, you can just do custom setup.

If your conversion doesn't include wiring, you can get a 88-91 Civic 4 door Ex cabin harness. This will be much better than hacking up you existing wiring, plus it plugs right in with everything else, including the fuse box.

If you want to do the coversion properly, Its a lot more labor intensive than everyone thinks.

Thanks, I figured it was going to be a pain. Now I have to figure out if it is worth it.

I can get the entire setup as it was standard on all our 4th gens, but switches will be wrong unless you flip them upside down or find the LHD EDM cars.

I did the power units from the front of a 4-door. I made my own harness and relay set up, and used aftermarket switches.
To make the 4-door units work you will need to change out the sliders.

check to see if you have blue wire w/black stripe in the master switch.
if you do that is the power feed for the passenger switch. there might be two of them. it would be the smaller guage wire.
make sure it has power when you turn the key on.
