Thx for the earlier vent. Now that Ive calmed down Ill explain. I have the worst luck with cars, I can barely go a week without something breaking down. I just got the car back from the shop on Wed, cause they were replacing my dimmer switch cause my hi-beams were not working, and 2wks b4 that, my waterpump and radiator both died. So today, when I get ready to leave school to come home, I get in, turn the key as usuial, and it starts to crank, after about 2seconds, i hear a snap, and at that point my starter packed it up I am pissed at this point, so I open the hood (dont ask why, I know there nothing I can do) look around and slam it down. I use my cell to call someone for a ride, but no dice, so I pull the 1hr 45min walk home, and then when I get home my parents start gruling me about where the car is, I say its busted again, and THEY START YELLING AT ME!!! (No, I dont know why, but this only helped to ruin my day more and make me even more pissed.) So now, I have to get it towed back to the shop, for a heafy $$ plus wait until they can get it in, then pay them 2hrs labour plus the price of the damn starter. Im broke just trying to keep this pile of bolts on the road, when my friends have crappier vehicals and they probably havent spent as much on repairs in there life as i have in a month. My car spends 10x the amount of time in the shop than it does on the road. Lets just say im not a happy camper :

In all seriousness, there is this older U.S. Army Deuce and a half for sale near me for about $4000. It's really appealing..i mean..driving a 2.5 ton truck to SCHOOL!!

I have actually looked into doing this b4, It would be pretty damn cool except for that, I have heard tho that it can be hard to get them to pass a safety check, cause you have to put seatbelts in, cause lots of Military Vehicles dont have em, also the engines and trannys are usuially pretty bagged out, and probably hard to get parts for em. They dont have very good heaters, so Id freeze my ass in the winter, and the fact that they burn sooo much fuel, means id be hitting up my wallet every coupla days.

A little work, get my stereo in there tho, and id have one hellova cool ride and a head-turner , unfortionatly its too unfeasible. although it cant be anymore unreliable than what I have now

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I hope your parents learn to stop and think for a second that things may not be your fault.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. I tend to get rid of my car when I see that I'm spending too much on repairs.

Shitty luck . Is your car a 9C1 (ex-Cop car)?

What kind of km's on it? At a certain number, certain things are expected to die, but hopefully you don't have a lemmon - 93's aren't supposed to have that many problems yet...

I personally love the 5.7 and the power of a Caprice (blows the doors off the Vics), but honestly - they are not nearly as reliable as a Vic. The ONLY reason I'm in a Marquis is they are virtually indestrutable. I beat the piss out of my poor car, and nothing breaks. The most I've had to replace mechanically is a Fuse, and it died because I touched 2 wires together I shouldn't have !

Good luck with your troubles though - Merc.

Once again, the car has been restored to working order, $220 for a heavy-duty starter, and $51 for towing to my house, and a few hrs laying under the car, and shes purring like a kitten again. The new starter is cranking her much better as well, and should be helpful in the cold weather.

I was dissapointed in the $220 price, thinking I should have been able to do better, I probably could of, but I wanted it fixed asap, and I didnt want to have to order the parts and wait till monday, and there was no way in hell that i was gonna bring it to a shop and get soaked for them to "diagnose a no-start" just to find out that the starter is cooked (duh) and then 2hrs labour and a heafty price for the starter, nevermind waiting days for an appt.

Im hoping that nothing will go bad for a while now. The whole starter thing pissed me off tho, cause I had that money put aside for a new 12' sub and box cause my old one is blown and sounds soo bad, i had to unhook it
