Unhappy Burnin oil like a mother.....my baby is dynin

Alright, well i change my oil like 2-3 months ago and i checked it recently (always check ur oil once every 1-2 weeks, i should've) and noticed it was below the low mark, near empty, so I'm losing oil fast. Plus my exhaust gets all black. LIke tonight I cleaned my exhaust then went a few minutes down the road, then on the way back raced my friend down the highway and when i got back my tip was completley black again . This sux, cuz i wont be gettin an engine for at least 2-3 months. I was wonderin if anyone knew any temporary solution that could at least reduce the crazy oil burning (ie if any oil additives might actually help or anything). If anyone has any ideas plz lemme know, thanx.

I got a solution....buy my motor!!

But seriously, I have a 1991 Si motor with 169K on it.....$300.

Now before you laugh, the motor burns absolutley NO OIL whatsoever, and I just did Honda T-belt at 165K. This motor ran a 16.3 on snow tires with nothing but a warm air Aem and a leaky thermal exhaust. I would have gotten a better time, but a case bearing blew my trans up.

I dont know about you, but I have seen maybe 2 Si's in my lifetime that didnt burn ANY oil.

I have a Zc, and have no use for the Si motor. Its a shame, I hate to give up a motor in this kind of shape. Let me know if your interested, I live in South-East Pa.

smokin em down...(and I don't mean the tires)

I also have a very bad oil burning problem, If you are planning on swapping the motor then simply dump a bottle of no smoke in it. I did it when my car was awaiting its new engine. I swear man it completely QUIT smoking(until I burned up all the no smoke). if you already have a motor then have fun with it. my saying is never pull a running motor...blow it up first...its a lot more fun that way. that way you don't feel bad about pulling it out. my motor started smoking at 2500 rpm. I used to ride around all day long with that bitch pinned to the rev limiter... and let me tell ya, it was fun, so either dump in some no smoke and be a wus with it, or enjoy it, get some good laughs, and drive it straight into the ground!!!!!

Some inspiring words right there. If you says that the no smoke shit works I may try that, i get it hella cheap.

I got the same problem, except the only time it smoke and burns oil is when I floor it. I was using 10w 30 and it would burn that shit quick but I started using 10w 40 and it doesn't burn oil driving normal but it still smokes when I floor it.

no smoke to the rescue

I swear to god man, the guy at the parts store assured me it wouldn't fuck up the oil pump, I used to basicly run no smoke as oil in my hb. it worked. motor still half assed ran when we pulled it. if you got another motor then try it...whats the worst that could happen???

for a quick fix to your oil burning problem, get some 20w-50 or straight 50 motor oil and dump it in, its a lot thicker than the 5w-30 you should be using, so it'll seal up some of those little crack where oil likes to get by.
