D15A2 Engine Swap...

I own a 87 Civic GL (4dr sedan) that has alot of problems. There's no power and the brakes have become weak ever since the cars been acting up. I had a compression & leakdown performed on the engine and found out that there is a burnt out exhaust valve in the 4th cylinder. I want something different and unique, so I was planning to do an engine swap instead. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what my options are. Very little info floating about on the web regarding the options for this car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only mods I have on the car are:
-Brembo cross drilled rotors
-Goodridge steel brake lines
-Energy Suspension bushing (all around).
-AEM brake pads
-Pirelli's P700Z wrapped around 15" Sport Editions "Valore"

Someone told me about a ZC engine swap. Is that an option and is it practical/feasible Thanks everyone.

-Ro

Is your car fuel injected? If it is then you could swap in a Zc or an 87-88 teg motor.A first gen Zc is bolt in and the teg motor is also a bolt in.You could spend some more coin and swap a B16 or even a B18c5(Type R teg motor). These swaps would cost you alot of coin though, your car would be stupid fast though.

Thanks for the feedback and help Johnboy27. Although the sound of having a Type-R motor inside my engine bay is awesome & tempting... I don't beleive it is a wise decision for me. Maybe it is time I let this one go... and look for a new(er) car. Again, thank you.

You should look for a 85-87 CRX. You can swap all your parts over to the crx. Even make the CRX better. The wagons have bigger torsion bars and aluminum drums. And you list of aftermarket parts will fit too. So thats your best bet.
