Single disabled mom needs help;

Hello everyone, I have a 2001 caviler 2.2 automatic and the a/c compresser wont turn on, I am trying to refill the r134 coolent and it wont go in and I noticed the compresser wont turn on, I am on a very low fixed income so I have to try to fix myself, I have breathing troubles so I do need the a/c on Humid days.

You'll need to find out if there is power to the compressor? I have had several this year that have had broken wires in the harness near the high pressure switch. Most places will have a/c performance tests for a reasonable fee. It may be worth having it checked out. Once you know what is wrong you can then decide if you are comfortable making the repairs yourself or not.

It is not uncommon for these to be leaking out of various parts. Most a/c repairs will run anywhere from $100 to over a $1000.
