Explains everything....we all know what people from Palmy are like

But seriously Taranaki, it is no worse than South Africa.....
Since leaving South Africa they have changed the format of the driver's licence from being in an 'ID Book' to the credit card style, if you did not get your licence switched to the new format by a certain date, you have to retake your whole test!!!
I mean, is that money-making?

Now, for me to go 'home' I have to obtain an international driver's licence so I can drive around my home city and have a beer with my mates?

Toksin...better make sure your folks know about the licence deal too bud

Jim, until SA redid their licence format, your licence didn't expire, ever, once you got a drivers licence you had it for life.....until now

I was referring to the international licence deal seuntjie

Your folks would have to get an international licence to drive in South Africa now as opposed to being able to go over there and use their ID book licence, the silly traffic cops won't recognise that as a licence.

I have a PA licence now, so when I go to visit my Dad I have to get an international licence
