1959 Impala Sled COMPLETED (5 pics)
Well, I suppose this is the first of what I had to get done this week. She's taking the place of the 1961 Impala that was supposed to sell on Sunday. Hope you like her.
Before anyone mentions it, yes, I am aware that the steering wheel is not attached. It was removed to more clearly show the flocked carpeting. It's a kit stock piece, anyways. But isn't she a dreamboat in any case? Enjoy. ^_^

Nice! Gotta love the tail styling on the '59s... Close ups of the interior would be cool if you're camera is up to it. :coolguy:

Okay, one at a time.
Lownslow: I define a "sled" by the old mantra "If it don't go, chrome it." This model has no performance parts beyond the three two-barrel carbs on the 348, and was slammed heavily, and wears no door handles or other extraeneous decoration. Thus, I call it a sled. And that is the kit stock chrome windshield frame and kit stock vent windows. I know because they were a pain to attach. Bloodhound: Nope. Stock unmolested engine. I love 348's and 409's too much to sacrifice this jewel for some blase TPI 350. Group C Fan: It's Revell/Monogram. Irupp33: The exact color name I'm not sure of, but it's a nail polish finish. So just stroll through a cosmetics aisle and you'll probably find it. Oh yeah, here's a few daylight pics.

Looking good, I still don't know about the interior colours to match the exterior but it still looks cool either way. As for the sled/Pro tourer I think this could only be labelled as one word...Cruiser :smoka:
