Cold Air Intake question 96 Accord
Hello there.........
I just put the cold air intake in my car not too long ago and was wondering if you guys could answer a simple question... hopefully someone knows what I am talking about. When I installed the CAI there is a thing in our engines called a "Intake Air Resonator"... you know the thing that feeds off the bottom of the stock intake?? Anyway, obviously the CAI has no feed for this and the IAR is just sitting there with an open throttle body like with nothing to it?? I would think that they would make a filter like the CAI has to go over it but can't find the size anywhere?? I read that it "supplies manifold air next to each individual fuel injector between 1,300 and 4,500 rpms. This additional air charge helps lean the mixture and provide complete combustion during acceleration." quote, unquote from my ever so useful Haynes manual. So what's the 411?? Someone let me know what you did....

That's what I am asking.. but there are electrical connectors or sensors attached to it?? So I don't know if I should take it out or not? hmmmm

theoretically, lowering the vtec engagement point would be like having an engine with no vtec, only a cam.... VTEC in sohc cam cars is implemented mostly as fuel economy, so the idle is nice and smooth but you can still have decent performance up top..

resonator?? MAN RIP THAT SHIZ NIT OUT! nothing is hooked up to it.... the only thing it's doing right now is blocking cold-air flow to your intake...to take it out you gotta remove the bumper i think....or you can loosen the bumper and yank it out.... what ever you decide take no mercy on it and feel the power of colder air..... good luck
