Lacquer Paint Color Question
I'm building a Monogram '53 Corvette and want to paint it Polo White. Any recommendation on a Tamiya or Testor's spray lacquer color that would be a close match?
Is there a manufacturer that makes exact laquer color matches for car models? Jeff |

Re: Lacquer Paint Color Question
Pre mixed automotive lacquer for models for airbrushing, he may have it in spray too. Excellent paint.

Re: Lacquer Paint Color Question
Any automotive paint store can mix 1K "touch up" automotive urethane paints. That Polo White is an old color, and the code may be hard to find, but it's worth a try. My local Finishmasters sells 2 oz. bottles of Dupont (Omni or Nason) base for about $13. That's actually a lot of paint, since you need to reduce it approx. 3-parts medium-temp reducer to 1-part paint. They sell reducer by the quart.
You can put it over Tamiya primer with no problem. There's always Tamiya Pure White, which should be a close match. It's very transparent, so be sure to put white primer under it, or you'll waste a LOT of paint and end up with a thick paint job.
