I have a 1999 Silo and found the answer to reprogram in another thread.

Look under Chevrolet>Nonspecific>Keyless Entry Info

Check down the list for TIREBURNER. He has many listings but look for the reply to the same question as yours from a 2001 Pontiac Montana owner.

It is a listing of the GM's 1999 how to reprogram keyless entry units.

It will work for your 2000 Silo.

Make sure you do all your units, working or not, at the same time or the working ones will be disabled when you program a new one.

Good Luck

I"m not sure if this will help or not but I stumbled across a similar thread in the GMC/Jimmy forum. There is a thread titled "remote reprogramming" you might want to read. Just a thought.

93 Olds Silo

Will these procedures work for a 93 remote entry? Or can anyone post the procedure for me?

Thanks

Re: Reprogramming Keyless Entry

97-00 use these:

Important! Once the BCM enters program mode, all transmitters must be programmed at the same time. Any transmitters not learned at this time will be erased.

1) Remove the key from the ignition cylinder

2) Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse panel

3) Close all the doors

4) Close the liftgate

5) Turn the ign lock cylinder to the ACC. position

6) Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second

7) Open and close front passenger door
A chime will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming mode

IMPORTANT!
After 7 seconds a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming.

8) Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds

9) Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed.

10) Remove the ignition key from the ignition cylinder

11) Install the BCM PRGRM fuse back into the fuse panel.

Re: Reprogramming Keyless Entry

I am having trouble getting this to work. After step 6, i get one chime, then a pause, then another 8 chimes, a pause, then one chime, then a pause, then another 8 chimes, a pause and then it does the same again, for the third time. I then follow the rest of the steps, but to no avail. Can anyone help??
