MPFI swap downside?

I just got back from the shop both my injectors are blown i figuered great time for the MPFI swap but i need to change the ECU right? cause i have a STD and won't the gears be goofy? Also what parts will i need (i'm getting them new from honda) Also will my milage go down a bit? I'm getting the shop to do this for me cause its finals week and i just don't have the time and need my car fixed soon. What site has the best step by step for them to use? Thanks all.

Downside, if 2 is better than 1, than 4 has to be better than 2 right!

hmm the gears I dont know why your asking about the gears and the ecu in the same sentance (sp). The gears have nothing to do with the ecu. The gears in the si tranny are shorter so better revs, But for econo you are better sticking with the tranny you have. Oh ya If ya keep your foot out of it the mpfi swap will give you a little better gas mileage.

The only way that different gears would matter when changing the ECU is when you drive an automatic....standard you decide when to shift so the ECU has nothing to do with that.

the ecu plugs up to any car(same year) with the same trans the only diffrence in the wiring is the 2 more injectors and the crank sensor

OK cool stuff no down side really then cause i don't stomp on the gas all the time and when i do milage doesn't matter. I just thought cause the tranny was not matched to the ECU it might get goofy thats what i was trying to ask. But you said it's not a problem so i'm going to get this done real soon THx again all

I have two ECU's that i use. ones a manual tranny pm6, and the other is an auto tranny pg7. they both work fine, but when i plug in the pg7 (auto ecu) it throws a check engine light #19, which is something like automatic transaxle lockup selenoid. or something like that which is irrelevant. it still runs good, just with a check engine light on, so you CAN use automatic ECU in a manual car..
